Gandhi Books worth Rs. 2.5 lakhs sold within a week

Week-long exhibition-cum-sale of Gandhi Books organized by Bombay Sarvodaya Mandal to commemorate 68th Gandhi death anniversary

n the present world, full of modern technologies like i-phones, tabs and e-books, it is difficult to believe that many people still interested in buying Gandhi books. But a week-long exhibition-cum-sale of Gandhi Books proves that Gandhiji's teachings are relevant than ever.

Gandhi-Vinoba-Sarvodaya books (in English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati) worth about Rs. 2.5 lakhs were sold within seven days at the books exhibition. It was organized by Bombay Sarvodaya Mandal and Gandhi Book Centre with the financial assistance from ‘Babulnath Mandir Charities’ and ‘Mahalaxmi Mandir Charities’at Hutatma Chowk and Gandhi Book Centre at Nana Chowk from 27th January to 3rd February to commemorate 68th death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

Reformed criminal Laxman Gole spread Gandhian thoughts among jails

A hardened criminal a decade ago, Laxman Gole's life now revolves around reforming lives of hundreds of convicts serving jail terms across the state. And his tool is 'The Story of My Experiments with Truth', an autobiography of Mahatma Gandhi.

Convicted for a number of crimes in 2005, Gole has been preaching Gandhi's views among prisoners all over the state through Bombay Sarvodaya Mandal. He conducted a sort of examination for 452 inmates of Nashik, Aurangabad, Taloja and Nagpur Jail in Maharashtra on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.

 For the love of Gandhi
Young professor Shang, one of China’s foremost scholars on the Mahatma's writings, unveiled his latest project.

Shang QuanyuShang Quanyu fell in love with Mahatma Gandhi when he was a young undergraduate student in Xian, the central Chinese city known for its terracotta warriors. Shang studied under an old “India hand” at the Northwest University, Peng Shu Zhi, who first introduced him to Gandhi’s writings. Shang was hooked, and would go on to do his PhD on Gandhi. Today he is perhaps one of China’s foremost experts on Gandhi, authoring several books on his philosophy.
