Conflict Resolution by Mahatma Gandhi, the Lawyer
CONFLICT RESOLUTION by
Mahatma Gandhi, the Lawyer
“I had learnt the true practice of law. I had learnt to find
the better side of human nature and to enter men’s hearts. I realized the true
function of a lawyer was to unite parties riven asunder. The lesson was so
indelibly burnt into me, that a large part of my time during the twenty years
of my practice as a lawyer was occupied in bringing about private compromises
of hundreds of cases. I lost nothing thereby – not even money, certainly not
my soul.”

Mahatma Gandhi, 1927

Eknath Easwaran on "Gandhi, The Man"
EKNATH
EASWARAN ON ‘GANDHI THE MAN’
On this holy day, my eyes strayed to a book that I have owned for
a few years but hadn't read properly. Eknath Easwaran has profiled Mahatma
Gandhi beautifully in his book "Gandhi, The
Man". A Geeta blog is the perfect venue to
review a book written by a noted teacher of the Geeta about that colossus of
the 20th century, Mohandas
Karamchand Gandhi.
Shri
Easwaranji was an accomplished spiritual teacher
based in California, and has written a three volume set "Bhagavad Gita for Daily Living".

Gandhi and the formation of the African National Congress of South Africa
Gandhi and the formation of the African National Congress of South Africa
"January 8, 1912, is the centenary of the African National Congress of South Africa."
M. K. Gandhi, who was then looking after the families of prisoners and ex-prisoners at the Tolstoy Farm near Johannesburg, during a lull in the passive resistance movement in the Transvaal, hailed the event as representing “the awakening of Africa.” ...Read More
